The company was incorporated in 1992 by Dennis Burns who has an established track record and expertise in developing innovative uses for plastics.
His work paved the way for creating alternative closure technology for the wine, spirits and specialty food markets.
Today the company manufactures and markets synthetic closures for wine, distilled spirits and specialty foods.

Who invented SupremeCorq closures?
SupremeCorq is the brainchild of Pacific Northwest business entrepreneur Dennis Burns.
He fine-tuned the art of injection molded plastics in two other successful companies.
A wine tasting trip in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys provided the inspiration for SupremeCorq.
While touring wineries, he noticed that many wineries were using synthetic bungs or stoppers in their large barrels instead of traditional wooden bungs.
If these plastic stoppers could work for wine barrels and winemakers, he reasoned they could work in wine bottles.
Years of research, development and testing later, a company was born.
